copied from myspace

have i gone stark raving mad?! took a 1.7gig drive freshly formatted and set it up as a master on secondary(single drive) copied "xyz" from c: on computer a took the drive to computer b and could not see any data. drive properties did say 266mb was used but could not see it anywhere. only some dumb file called "rt at:" fdisked/formatted/scandisk(tho­urough) and copied a single folder "abc" as proof. brought drive back to computer a and the folder was not there! decided to copy "xyz" folder again for what it was worth. brought drive home and put it on a w2k computer. now i can see "abc" but not "xyz" ! no virus detected on drive.

i just stumbled unto a very annoying phenomena: i noticed that files copied from one xp machine to another xp machine (via wifi, but this is certainly irrelevant) get a creation hour changed by one hour. for instance, a file created at 9:12 pm gets registered on the machine where it is copied as created at 10:12 pm. this is a major nuisance in trying to synchronize directories. anyone has an explanation and a solution? the two machines clocks are exactly set in the same way and match to the second. regards -- john doue

actually, the current data is always copied from the previous record, but i would like to clear it without saving when i move to another form or close the access. i use tabs to store forms. my problem is when i close the access, the current data copied from the previous record is saved as a new record. my boss does not allow me to add an undo button in the form. i will appreciate it if anyone can offer me a help. best regards, james wong

i copied a couple of dozen folders containing a couple of hundred files from my server to my desktop using the workgroup network. when i was done with them, several excel and word files cannot be delete. hitting the delete key does nothing. right-clicking them brings up a menu that contains neither property nor delete options. i've restarted both the server and my desktop without any change in symptoms. when i try to open a word file, word opens but no document is displayed. when i try to open an excel file, i get an error saying it cannot be found. does anyone know what's causing this problem and how i can work around it to delete these files?
